Jean Bannister, 82, of Seville passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017. She was born October 4, 1934 in Washington, PA to the late John and Alice Fleming.
Jean was a graduate of Washington, PA High School and Steubenville College. She was an avid sports fan and a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She served as Clerk of Courts for many years and eventually retired from Westfield Insurance after 20 years as a bond underwriter. After retirement, she spent time working with the Minnesota Twins in Florida during spring training and as a Hospice volunteer for Wayne County Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Guy Leo Bannister.
Jean is survived by her sons, Jim (Cathie) of Lorida, FL and Tracy (Betsy) of Roswell, GA; daughters, Jackie (Mark) White of Coto de Caza, CA and Penny (Rick) Kies of Westfield Center, OH; grandchildren, Andrea (Tijerina) and Brian White, Matt (Shannon), Stacey (Colin Neidert), and Tara (Tim Forgach) Kies, and Jeff and Kevin Bannister; 4 great-grandchildren; as well as a special friend, Chett Workman.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 2, at First Christian Church, 116 E Boyer St., Wadsworth, OH 44281 at 1pm with Pastor Karen Rule officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior from 12-1pm.
