Obituary

Richard "Dick"
Stine
Wadsworth

On September 25, 2017, Richard (Dick) lost his battle with a long-term illness and passed into the arms of Jesus at University Hospital in Cleveland, surrounded by the love of his family.

Anyone who knew Dick could tell what a kind and gentle soul he was. Everyone who crossed his path liked him. He was a loving father, brother, uncle and friend.

He was born in Wadsworth, Ohio, on July 20, 1950, to Willard and Catherine Stine and grew up with his three brothers and two sisters, all of whom he had very close relationships with throughout his life. He graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1969 and shortly thereafter moved out to California where he enjoyed the beach, the water, the sunshine and his friends. He loved California, but found his way back to Wadsworth when he settled down and married. He became a stepfather to two girls who chose to call him Dad, and then eventually also had a son of his own. He cherished being a dad to his three children. He spent most of his career servicing typewriters and then printers, but his true passion was music. Whether he was playing at his church (First Christian), in bands with his brother Greg, solo work, or just sitting around playing his favorite songs, he had a beautiful voice and unmatched talent. He owned many guitars and played all his music by ear. However, nothing made him happier than when he was with his family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Willard and Catherine Stine and brother, Glenn Stine.

Dick is survived by his children, Jeffrey Stine, Allison (Andy) Shell and Brooke (Matt) Fields; Grandchildren, Averie, Cassie, Mason, Micah and Madox; Brothers, Larry Stine and Greg Stine; Sisters, Kathy (Dave) Hughes and Debbie (Roy) Pavick, and Nieces and nephews, Curt, Debbie, Justin, Emily, Sarah, Amy, Joey, Madison, Katie, Nick and Natalie.

The world lost a beautiful person. His family and friends were blessed to have had him in their lives and he will be sadly missed. He had a deep desire to help and love others.

Family will receive friends from 3 to 5pm on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at First Christian Church, 116 E Boyer St, Wadsworth with the funeral service immediately following.
