Florence Janet ‘Jan’ Seifert, 88, of Wadsworth, Ohio passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017. She was born January 25, 1929 in Akron to the late Bruce and Ethel Pulver.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a graduate of Buchtel High School, a member of the Wadsworth Rittman Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and was a very accomplished duplicate bridge player. She also enjoyed league bowling and was a former CYO volleyball coach. Early in her life she was employed by The Babcock & Wilcox Company.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Tom on October 1, 2002, her brother Reid Pulver and sister Gerry Rumler.
Jan is survived by her children; Matt (Tammy) Seifert of Wadsworth, Paula Shutt of Westlake and Dan Seifert of New York City.
She is also survived by her grandchildren; Reid (Brittany) Seifert, Jill Seifert, Lindsay, Allie and Courtney Shutt, her great grandson Reid Seifert Jr., several nieces and one nephew. The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Summa Health Akron Campus ICU and Acute Palliative Care Unit for their outstanding care and support.
The family will receive friends 4-7pm Friday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 am Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 272 Broad St., Wadsworth with Fr. Patrick Spicer, Celebrant. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
