In 1902, J.B. Hilliard began serving his community by providing quality funeral care from his location in Wadsworth Square. For over 60 years, his family maintained the business before selling it to the Schlup Cox Funeral Home. During those 60 years, J.B. Hilliard Funeral Home moved from its original Wadsworth Square location to where you can find it now on Lyman Street. From 1963 to the present, the original J.B. Hilliard Funeral Home has changed in name but the tradition of service and care to the community remains consistent. Just like in 1902, we’re still locally owned, and we still uphold the good reputation begun by J.B. Hilliard.
Dan and Belinda Rospert were proud to purchase the business on April 11th of 2006. The name of the firm now reflects the new ownership: Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home. Dan and Belinda are both licensed funeral directors and embalmers and have resided in Wadsworth since 1992. Dan has worked in the funeral service industry since the age of 14 and has recently held a management position with one of Ohio’s largest funeral homes and was also an account executive with a pre-need life insurance company. Belinda is accomplished as a pre- arrangement specialist, having worked with several area funeral homes.
With over 100 years of faithful, caring, and compassionate service, the J.B. Hilliard Funeral Home has enjoyed a rich history of service to Wadsworth, Ohio and surrounding communities. The Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home moves into the future and under the guidance of Dan and Belinda Rospert it appears that it will remain a Wadsworth institution for many years to come.
