Adams, Bryan

Wadsworth-Bryan Adams, 67, died at his home on September 30, of heart related problems. He was a longtime resident of Wadsworth and Western Star (Norton). He was born December 26, 1942, at Fort Knox, KY, son of the late Mildred Wiseman Adams of Akron (Kenmore) and First Lt. Kenneth Adams of Doylestown (Easton), OH.
Bryan’s first job in high school was at Ann’s Pastry Shop in Wadsworth. From there, he worked in the retail auto industry most of his career as a salesman/sales manager of Wallace Lincoln-Mercury in Barberton in the 60s and 70s. He was also sales manager for several area Lincoln-Mercury dealerships. He went on to buy rental properties and owned the Beldick and Circle Drive Motels for more than 30 years. He was a member of the last high school class (1960) to graduate from Wadsworth Central school building (now CIS). He was active with the Wadsworth High School Class of 1960 in later years, recently involved in planning the 50th reunion of his class. He was a member of the WHS Alumni Association, Wadsworth and Norton Historical Societies, and a 24-year member of AA. He attended Kent State University, The University of Akron, the Ford Marketing Institute, and Dale Carnegie Institute. He loved writing, behind-the-scenes politics, history, auto racing, WHS sports, 50s-60s cars, traveling, especially cruises, and old estates, formerly owning the Seiberling “Pillar House” at Western Star, and currently owns the Don Young Estate (Ohio Match) in Wadsworth. Ever known for his thrift, he hated long, windbag expensive obituaries.
He is survived by his wife, Irene (Fritz, Given); brothers Dennis (Gayle) of Portland, OR, and Wayne (Bernice) of Wadsworth; two nephews Noah of New Orleans and Zachary of Portland; step daughters Suzanne Berlin of Wadsworth and Pam (Tim) Wilson of Wheeling, WV; three grandsons, Asa Berlin, Drew and Evan Wilson, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by wife, Linda (Hall, Daniels).
Calling hours will be held at the Hilliard Rospert Funeral Home 174 North Lyman St, Wadsworth on Sunday, October 3 from 2-6 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ at 10 AM Monday, Oct 4, Rev. Rick Hull presiding. Inurnment at Woodlawn Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wadsworth Salvation Army.
