Kathryn I. Adams, 90, of Norton passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010 after a brief illness. She celebrated her 90th Birthday on September 5, 2010 surrounded by family and friends. She was born September 5, 1920, in Akron, Ohio to the late Paul and Vera Gertrude Garvin. She grew up in Wadsworth and lived nearly 70 years in the Norton home her husband built. Kathryn was a homemaker, “the best” pie baker, she picked and froze blueberries and sour cherries for her pies, loved mowing her yard and gardening, and canned tomatoes in August. She also loved watching the Indians and Browns.
She was preceded in death by her husband Menous in 1997, sister and brother in law Eleanor and Roy Spyker brothers in law Lloyd Shue, Verne Gordon, Bill Mumaw and Stazel Collins. She is survived by her sons and daughters in law; Charles (Buck) and Christy Adams of Wadsworth and Robert and Carolyn Adams of Norton; four grandchildren Scott (Amanda) Adams of McGuire AFB, NJ, Lisa Adams of Kalamazoo, MI, Tricia (Tom) Pletcher of Norton, Jennifer Lakhia of Wadsworth, four great grandchildren; Jenna and Jillian Pletcher, George Walton, Jane Lakhia and one great grandchild due in March 2011(a blessing from Scott and Amanda). Kathryn is also survived by her sisters Grace Collins of Wadsworth, June Mumaw of Mentor on the Lake, Dorothy Shue of Moss Pt., MS and Thelma Gordon of Norwalk, OH. There are several nieces and nephews also surviving.

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Monday at Trinity United Church of Christ, 215 High St. Wadsworth where a memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Rev. Daniel Doty officiating.
