Alfred E. “Al” Douglas Jr., 61, of Wadsworth joined his Lord Friday December 20, 2013. He was born January 13, 1952 in San Antonio, TX to Alfred Sr. and Delores Douglas.
Al was a member of Johnson United Methodist Church where he served as the Hospitality Minister, one of his favorite events was fish frys. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a talented carpenter. Al loved watching his children play sports, spending time with his family especially his grandsons and building things for his children.
He was preceded in death by his mother Dolores, brother Kevin and sister Michelle.
Al is survived by his wife Denise, their children: Zachariah (Ashley), Joshua, Elizabeth (Todd) Engel, Katlin (fiancé Steven) and Quintin. He is known as Papa Bear to his loving grandchildren: Noah, Maxton, Owen and Baby Dougy. Al is also survived by his father and step-mother Alfred
Sr. and Betty Douglas and his siblings: Marge, Sandy, Barbara, Dale, Jeff, Laura, Mark, Kelly, Lisa and Dolores.
A memorial service celebrating Al’s life will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Johnson United Methodist Church, 3409 Johnson Rd., Norton, OH 44203 with Pastor Ken Gifford officiating. The family will receive friend 2 hrs. prior to the service from 11am-1pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations maybe made to Johnson United Methodist Church.
