Louis Tilden Banfield, 88, of Wadsworth passed away Tuesday November 17, 2009. Born November 2, 1921 in Wayne County, WV to the late Virgil and Sadie Banfield. Mr. Banfield graduated form Wayne High School in 1942, attended Marshall University and The University of Akron. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps from 1943 – 1946, he retired from the Research and Development Department of B.F. Goodrich in 1987 after 36 years of service and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Akron.
Mr. Banfield was preceded in death by his daughter Joyce Banfield, brother Clyde Banfield and sister Brook Miller.
He is survived by his wife Bertha “Susie” Banfield, his son C.W. Banfield and sister Anna Lee Henthorne.
The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Thursday (TODAY) at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth, where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday with Pastor Kent Jarvis officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
