Wayne F. Bennett, 90 of Wadsworth passed away June 2, 2013. Born April 10, 1923 to the late Frank and Edith Bennett and resided in Indiana for the first 34 years of his life.
He served in U S Army during WWII. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his outstanding service to our Country. “Big Ben” was a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways for 47 years, where he was awarded several Million Mile Driving Awards.
Wayne is preceded in death by his wife Martha Bennett with whom he was married to for 68 years.
They have five children. Daughters, Brenda (Dan) Loparo and Linda Bennett; sons Sid (Barb) Bennett, Todd (Mildred) Bennett and William (Sharon) Bennett . He will be deeply missed by his many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth, Monday June 10, 2013 from 9:30-10:30AM.
Graveside Services will be conducted at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Monday June 10, 2013 at 11:30AM. Please meet at the Welcome Center at 11:15 AM. The family would like to thank the staff at Altercare of Wadsworth, Medina Co. Hospice and Liberty Residence II for the wonderful care he received.
