Bettie I Gaertner, 88, of Wadsworth passed away Monday, April 16, 2012. She was born on July 20, 1923 in Smithton, PA.
Mrs. Gaertner was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ where she sang in the choir, was a member of O.E.S. Medina Chapter, was active with Rainbow Girls, was a former member of the Footlighters, enjoyed playing bridge and was a world traveler.
She was preceded in death by her son Terry Wynkoop, brother Edward Robertson and her mother Thelma Anderson.
Bettie is survived by her husband Tom with whom she celebrated 39 years of marriage, one son and daughter in law Ricky and Dana Wynkoop of Atlanta, Ga and one daughter and son in law Beth and Roger Blake of Wadsworth. There are her grandchildren: Scott (Marisa) Wynkoop, Vanessa (Joe) Baily, Dana (Pete) March, Stephanie Blake and Toby (Alison) Blake, eight great grandchildren Rain Tessa Wynkoop, Kooper and Carter March, Savannah, Chase, Tessa, Mason, and Leah Blake, one brother Ron Robertson and one sister Cathy Suter. Eastern star service will be conducted 7:00 PM Wednesday, and funeral service will immediately follow at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Doty and Major Tom Grace officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to services from 5-7PM. Committal and inurnment will be 10am Friday in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Please meet at the information center at 9:45 am.
