Betty J. Ahl, 95, of Wadsworth passed away Friday, October 24, 2014. She was born May 4, 1919 in Kenmore to the late Roy E. and Carrie M. Flood. Mrs. Ahl was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was a graduate of Wadsworth High School Class of 1937. After High School she went on to Sayre’s Beauty School and received her Beauticians License in 1938. Betty had a long career as a beautician and owned Betty’s Beauty Bar in Wadsworth from 1958- 1981. On January 8, 1941 she married the late Robert Ahl. Betty was the Past Matron of the Wadsworth O.E.S. was a High Priestess of Kadesh Court #19 L.O.S.and was a Mother Advisor to the Rainbow Girls.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob on September 3, 1985, daughter Kaye Shope, brothers Kenneth and Donald Flood and sister Ruth Stewart.
Betty is survived by her son Robert Ahl Jr. of Missouri, Daughters Cheryl (Bob) Davis of Wadsworth and Jennifer (fiancé Gerome Ryba ) Ahl of Richfield and her son-in-law Ron Shope of Cincinnati. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Lori (Dean) Stewart, Craig (Shelly) Shope, Susan (Chris) Hoffman, her great-grandchildren Lauren and Alex Stewart and Samantha and Richard Hoffman, her sister Mary Smith and special niece Carol LoGuidice.
The family would like to thank the Staffs at Liberty Residence II and Hospice of Medina for all of the love that they have shown Betty.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 pm Monday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth where friends will be received from 1:00 until time of service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
