Obituary
Mary Creamer Bowers, 92, of Stow passed away Wednesday January 31, 2018. She was born in Steubenville, Ohio to her late parents John and Annie (Russell) Campbell. A current resident of Stow, Ohio she formerly resided in Wadsworth and Aurora, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 67 years William F., sister Anne Schrengauer and grandchild Melissa L.(Ratcliff) Garlow.
Mary is survived by her brother Matthew, children Judith Ratcliff, Bruce, Paul (Marci) and Philip as well as 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. As a devoted mother Mary raised four children and dedicated her life to caring for them. At an early age she developed an interest in music that carried through her entire life. Active in church, she was known for her beautiful singing voice eventually becoming a choir director for several churches. In addition, she was active for many years in community theater musical productions and dramatic presentations.
Known for her loving and caring spirit, she always strived to help people whenever she could. She volunteered constantly with her church, community organizations as well as in personal relationships with individuals. Countless times she and her husband opened their home to those in need of caring support and help.
A private viewing and service will be held for family on Monday February 5, with internment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. A memorial service for all friends and family will be held February 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. in Wadsworth, Ohio. A reception will follow immediately at the Hilliard-Rospert Event Center, 133 W. Boyer St. in Wadsworth.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mary’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Chapter.
