Wadsworth-
Ernest S. Bozigar “Ernie”, 95, of Wadsworth passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
He was born August 2, 1927 in Akron to the late Stephen and Julia (Gervenak) Bozigar. Ernie was a man of strong faith and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. He had a strong work ethic working several jobs in his early teens. In high school, he took machine shop courses and worked at Firestone after school. After graduating, he entered the US Army and was a WWII veteran and was always proud of the opportunity to serve his country. After being honorably discharged from the US Army, he worked several other jobs before starting at Babcock & Wilcox where he worked for 42 years until retiring. In retirement, he drove for Wadsworth Ford for 10 years until they closed.
Ernie had many interests over the years including being a Ham Radio Operator, fishing and outdoor sports, and watching Cleveland sports, especially the Indians. Above all, his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his brother Emil Bozigar and sister Irma Ringer.
Ernie is survived by his wife Diane (Kochy), with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in May of 2023, his daughter and son-in-law Karen and Eric Wein and their children Zach and Chelsea, sons and daughters-in-law John and Kelly (Hegarty) Bozigar and their son Brent, and Jim and Dina (Antal) Bozigar and their sons Michael and Alexander.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 7, from 4-7pm at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 8, at 11am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 272 Broad St., Wadsworth, OH. Interment will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
