Helen M. Brooks, 92, died Sunday, June 26, 2011, following a short illness. Born May 25, 1919, Helen lived most of her life in Pittsburgh and Wexford, PA until moving to Wadsworth, OH in 2000. Helen loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed baking, bowling, playing cards and watching football (especially the Steelers).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Helen (Hein) Gerstner, husband Alvin, brother Frank (Margaret) and sister Augusta (Steve) Hulboy. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Michael) Kozlowsky, granddaughter Amanda of Charlotte, NC and nephew John (Joy) Hulboy.
Helen’s sweet and generous spirit will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends, both old and new.
Friends may call on Wednesday June 29, 2011 from 5-9 PM at the Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Thursday June 30, 2011 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 201 Church Rd, Wexford, PA. Entombment will be at Allegheny County Memorial. Park. Box 300, Wadsworth, OH 44282, Sacred Heart Catholic Church 272 Broad St., Wadsworth, Oh 44281or the charity of the donor’s choice.
