Joan Bruno of Wadsworth, Ohio beloved wife of the late James S. Bruno, passed away July 26, 2017. She was the only child of the late Helen and Frederick Dobler, Mother of Reverend Karen Joan Bruno (Brenda) and Mark Frederick Bruno (Katie). Grandmother of Mitchell, Max, Nicholas (Amy) and Jack.

Joan was born June 9, 1933, in New Jersey. Her education included a course at the American Institute of Banking. She entered the banking industry until the birth of her first child. She then became a stay at home Mom. She and her husband moved to Colorado in 1986. During her years in Colorado she worked for an insurance company. She and Jim moved to Wadsworth in 2002, to be close to family. Joan started a business selling products on Amazon.

She was an active member of the Mt. Zwingli UCC Church. She loved cooking dinners for her family and baking Birthday cakes. She had a strong love of Christian music and show tunes. Her hobbies were reading, doing crossword puzzles and playing cards with family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 5th, 5-8 pm at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman, Wadsworth. Funeral service will be Sunday, August 6 at 12:30 PM at Mt. Zwingli United Church of Christ, 2172 S. Medina Line Road, Wadsworth, with Rev. Keith Hejnal officiating. The family would like to thank the staff of Liberty II, AlterCare and Southern Care Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Zwingli, UCC.
