Janet L. (Shaffer) Burchett, age 77, formerly of Wadsworth, Ohio, passed away on November 3, 2016.

She was born in Fayette County, West Virginia on March 20, 1939 to Charles and Ruby (Null) Shaffer. Janet relocated to Wadsworth from Dunbar, West Virginia in 1968 and resided in Wadsworth until recently, when she moved to Beachwood, Ohio to be closer to her family. She was married to Bobby R. Burchett, who preceded her in death.

Janet was retired from a privately-owned pet grooming shop where she was employed for more than 10 years. She was a member of the Wadsworth Garden Club, the Wadsworth Doll Club, the Red Hats, and Young at Heart Bible Studies. She was actively involved in worship at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Smithville, Ohio.

Janet is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Roy) McWhorter, and Kelly (John) Nichols. She was a devoted and loving grandmother to Patrick McWhorter, Sean (Kendra) McWhorter, Eric (Ashley) Arndt, Julie (Paul) Mastran, and Shaylee Henderson. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Calling hours will be on November 8, 2016 at 10:00 am, followed immediately by services at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Stephen Olsen at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 7605 Pleasant Home Rd, Smithville, Ohio. Interment will take place at 1:15 pm at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
