David Byers, 67, of Lodi, died unexpectedly Friday, March 7, 2014.

He was born July 4, 1946 to Raymond and Lena (Buchanan) Byers. He graduated from Cloverleaf High School in 1964 and soon thereafter joined the Air Force in service to his country. He spent a year in Viet Nam and was honorably discharged in 1970. He settled in Lodi upon his discharge. He worked for Westfield Insurance for 25 years, Spencer Machine and lastly at Sharon Printing in Sharon Center, retiring in March, 2009. David was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wadsworth.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Catherine (nee Schmidt) Byers; son, Gerald (Karen); grandchildren, Isaac and Elizabeth; brother Richard Byers and sister-in-law Lynn; nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews; several great-great nieces and nephews with another ‘great-great’ due any moment.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Daniel (Lynn) and sister-in-law, Barbara.

The family will receive friends Thursday March 13 from 4-8 PM at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street in Wadsworth. Funeral services will be held Friday March 14, 11 AM at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church 146 High St. Wadsworth with Rev. Daniel J. Cammarn officiating. Inurnment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery .
