William Thomas Carter Sr., a retired Teamster, loving husband, father and grandfather, born in Nashville, TN in 1943, passed away with, Alice, his wife of 52 years, by his side, early on Saturday August 25, 2018.
He taught junior bowlers, enjoyed fishing, golfing and bowling in the Eagles and American Legion Leagues.
He was a southern gentleman that loved his wife like no other, he was kind,generous and never hesitated to help anyone who asked or was in need. His niece Amy is aspiring to raise her son to have the same southern qualities as her Uncle Bill.
He was preceded in death by his brother William Nave, sister-in-law Darlene Wilkinson.
William is survived by his wife Alice, children: Angela (Bill) Heckler, Julie (Matt) O’Brien, William Jr., Joseph (Terry) and David. There are 16 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Emily, Elijah, Ellie, Matthew, Tyler, Kelsey, Molly, Kurstyn, Allison, Zackary, Maddie, Megan (Chris), Justin (Elise), Cory and Sean, 6 great grandchildren: Emalynn, Brooklynn, Wyatt, Scarlett, Joel and Reagan. He is also survived by his brother Larry Lane, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Becky and Dan Friend, Roger Wilkinson, Anne and Bob Wiltrout, Neva and Ken Gibson, Norma Nave and close family friend Michelle.
The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Thursday. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
