Obituary
Charles Irwin Eakin, 73, of Wadsworth, passed away on June 21, 2016.
He was born on March 22, 1943 to Charles and Ethel (Kiever) Eakin in Cleveland, Ohio. Chuck served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1966 after four years of service. He served on the USS Yellow Stone. He obtained an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering and retired in 2005 from Logan Machine Company. Charles was an avid Ham Radio Operator “WA8SZT” and also enjoyed boating, fishing and drag racing.
Charles is survived by his loving wife Elaine (Crislip) to which he was married 49 years. He is also survived by his three children: Suzanne Hobbs, Sarah (Shane) Knopsnider and Chuck (Joan) Eakin, Jr.; grandchildren Jennifer Eakin, Erin Knopsnider, Erika Knopsnider, Erik Knopsnider and Emma Knopsnider; and siblings Bruce Eakin of Warren, Robert Eakin of Florida and Paul Dowling of Cleveland. He was proceeded in death by his sister, Cheryl Dowling and grandson, Shane Michael Knopsnider.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 25 from 10 AM -11 AM at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, Wadsworth, Ohio with a service officiated by Lt. Mark Baggs beginning at 11 AM. Internment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
