David M. Cleckner, 72, of Wadsworth passed away Friday, October 5, 2012. He was born December 1, 1939 in Wadsworth to the late William and Mariam Cleckner. David was a graduate of Barberton High School and attended Kent State University. He was the owner and operator of Cleckner’s Restaurant from 1964-1984 and was a former member of the Wadsworth Fire Department and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.
David is survived by his wife Sue with whom he would have celebrated 45 years of marriage on November 23, 2012, his sons and daughters-in-law Jeff (Diana) Cleckner, Scott Cleckner, Gregg Wright, John Pat Cleckner and Dave W. (Carol) Cleckner. There are his seven grandchildren: Amanda, Jessica, Nathanial, Sara, Brittany, Haley and Kensi and his brother and sister-in-law Bill and Linda Cleckner of Florida.
The family will receive friends 3-8 PM Tuesday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Wednesday with Rev. Daniel Doty officiating. Interment will be Woodlawn Cemetery.
