Obituary
Marvin (Mac) McKelvey Courtright, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1. Born in Smithfield, Ohio, Marvin was the beloved husband of Alice Jane (Brown) to whom he was happily married for sixty years. He was the father of four sons, Stephen, Michael (Cindy), Harry (Cindi), and Brian (Wendy). He will be greatly missed by many including eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Stephen, Joshua, Elissa, Evan, Daniel, Zachary (Chang) & Marina, and four great-grandchildren, Seren, William, Porter & Samuel. Mac was an active member of the New Alexandria United Methodist Church for many years. He was known for his dedication to family, his entertaining storytelling and most of all, his “Courtright charm”. He served stateside in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was employed at Weirton Steel for 37 years. He was a man of strong character who cared deeply for all his family.
Preceding him in death are his beloved Alice, his parents Effie (Porter) and Marvin L. Courtright, his brother John Thomas and his son, Stepehn.
A celebration of Mac’s life will take place at New Alexandria United Methodist Church at 5:00pm on August 29.
