Jack L. Cowan, 92, of Homerville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2022. He was born on May 29, 1930 in Booton, West Virginia to Willard H. and Lucille Cowan.
He was married for 63 years to his late wife, Evelyn, where early in their marriage, they enjoyed camping and fishing at Watauga Lake in Tennessee.
He proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Orion from 1951 – 1955.
Jack was an avid collector of tools and enjoyed farming, watching western movies, having large gardens of fruits and vegetables, going to auctions, and helping his Amish neighbors.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, and daughter, Teresa D. Beatty.
Jack is survived by his daughter Ellen (Greg) Thomas; grandchildren Amanda (Michael) Patterson, Katie (Jeremy) Seiver, Jake Thomas, Evan (Kristen Bell) Thomas; great-grandchildren Zachary, Ripley, Ronan; special family friend Penny Rucker; and dedicated caregiver, Jo Lytle.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Harmony Hospice.
A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Wayne, WV. at 12 noon on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
