James E. Crowe, age 77, passed away on December 6, 2021 at Akron City Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on November 22, 1944 in Charleston, W. Va. to the late Raymond and Stella Crowe.

After coming to Ohio in 1959, he made his home in Wadsworth. He was retired from the Gerstenslager Company in 2008. Mr. Crowe was an active supporter for the Wadsworth Grizzlies and coached softball. He was a life member of the Wadsworth Eagles.

James was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sandra Crowe; grandsons, Jeff Lauck and Alex Vilayseng; brothers, Carmel and Raymond Jr.; sisters, Lola Winston, Lorraine Williams and Shirley Pelot; and best friend, Curly Moyer. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; sons, Tim and Billy Crowe; daughters, Danielle Rankin (Zach Hiltner), Tara Campbell (John), Tracie Sega (John), and Kimberly Elkins (Jason); grandchildren, Marissa Rankin, Mason, Mackaela and Maddox Hiltner, Lauryn and Trista Mills, Brennan and Carter Crowe, Taylor and Max Vilayseng, Brittany, Audri, John and Trevor Sega, Austin, Alexis and Brodie Elkins; great-grandchildren, Mia and Millie Vilayseng, Lola and Penelope Ullman, Maison and Olivia Lauck, and Scarlett Sega; brothers, Robert and Danny Crowe; and sisters, Diane Leguillon (Chuck) and Rita Estep; and other family and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, Dec. 20th, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. in Wadsworth.  Facial coverings will be required at the funeral home.
