Obituary
Lola Fay Dawson, born October 27, 1914, departed this world on December 22, 2009 to join her loved ones and many friends in heaven. She leaves behind her son Bruce Dawson and his wife Sara, their children Sharon and husband Mike Lupeika, Julie and husband Rick Martinez and their children Nathan, Andrew James (A.J.), and Nicole and son John Lehmann. She also leaves behind her son David Dawson and his wife Martha, their children Matthew Dawson and wife Megan Haury and their child Asher James Dawson and their daughter Katherine (Katie) and husband Ian Watts and daughter Veronica Lam.
Lola leaves behind her friends at Shenandoah Nursing Home in Fishersville, Virginia where she has lived for the past three years and her many friends in Wadsworth where she lived for most of her adult life. Especially dear to her heart was the First Church of the Nazarene in Wadsworth, Ohio which was co-founded by her mother Ina Roach. She played the organ at the church for many years and was active in the life of the church.
Lola also worked at the Ella M. Everhard Library, Wadsworth Municipal Hospital, Wolfe’s Department Store, and the Ohio Match Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents Pearley and Ina Roach and her beloved husband of 54 years, Taylor Bishop Dawson.
A public viewing will be held at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 North Lyman St., Wadsworth on Monday, December 28, 2009, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday at the First Church of the Nazarene, 743 High St, Wadsworth, Ohio officiated by Rev. Stanley Ward. A viewing at 12:00 PM will be held at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetary, Wadsworth, Ohio.
Her family wishes to thank the staff of Shenandoah Nursing Home in Fishersville, Virginia; Hospice of the Piedmont in Charlottesville, Virginia; and Liberty Residence in Wadsworth, Ohio, all of whom gave such loving care to Lola in the final years of her journey with us.
