Obituary
Jerry Joseph “Dip” DiPolito, 76, passed away on September 8, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. DiPolito was born May 30, 1947, in Wadsworth to the late Joseph and Bertha DiPolito.
Hew was a life resident of Wadsworth, graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1966 and was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War. Dip retired from the City of Wadsworth Streets Department. He was an active member of Wadsworth VFW Post #1089, the Wadsworth Honor Guard, Wadsworth American Legion Post #170, The American Legion Riders, Wadsworth Eagles and the Rittman Moose. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, golfing, playing cards and helping cook Friday dinners at the American Legion Post 170.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia (Shannon) Dipolito and brothers Dan and Rick DiPolito.
Jerry is survived by his children Mike (Tammy) DiPolito, Lisa (Jeff) Coleman, grandsons Joe (Molly) and Mitchell (Emily) DiPolito, Cole and Joey Hammond Johnson and many friends who knew him as “Dip” or Grandpa Dip”
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jenn and Brooke who helped to care for him.
The family will receive friends 4-7pm, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am.
Jerry will be laid to rest with his beloved Patricia at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with Honors.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Blind Golf Association, 414 Allen Dr., Wadsworth, Ohio 44281 or to the Wadsworth Honor Guard 121 Main St., Wadsworth, Ohio.
