Obituary
Jane Grace (Gooch) Dressler, 92, of Medina, Ohio, died Friday, July 15 at the Western Reserve Masonic Community in Medina, Ohio .
Jane was born on August 6, 1923 in Brilliant, Ohio the daughter of Fred and Grace Houston Gooch. Jane was married on November 20, 1965 to Robert K. Freeze who preceded her in death on March 2, 1983, she then married Howard E. Dressler who preceded her in death on May 25, 2011.
Jane was a 1940 graduate of Brilliant High School in Brilliant, Ohio and went on to graduate with a Degree in Education from West Liberty State College in West Liberty , West Virginia. Jane then went on to teach 1st grade at Washington Elementary School until 1965. She also taught students the piano and organ, was the organist for First Presbyterian Church in Brilliant, Ohio, Grace Lutheran Church in Wadsworth, Ohio and the Western Reserve Community in Medina, Ohio. Jane loved art, music and traveled extensively. Jane’s first husband Robert was a survivor of Pearl Harbor and they went many times to reunion with other survivors. Jane and her second husband Howard spent every winter for many years in Stewart, Florida visiting with her cousins. Although her family was small, Jane truly loved them all.
Jane is survived by three stepsons: Thomas Freeze (Karen) of Dublin, OH, Dan Dressler (LaVonna) of Wadsworth, OH, Jack Dressler of Murray, KY; one stepdaughter: Betsy Kemp (Scott) of Wadsworth, OH; numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren; two cousins: William Millard (June) of Jefferson City, MO, David Millard (Wilma) of Stewart, FL and their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pastor David Craig will conduct the funeral service Thursday 11 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 146 High Street in Wadsworth, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church .
