Carl R. Dudley, 83, of Wadsworth died Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Born March 4, 1926 in Noble County to the late Pearly and Hazel Dudley.
Mr. Dudley moved to Wadsworth in 1954 and was a member of First Christian Church where he served as a Deacon and volunteer. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. In 1967 he purchased Stonier’s Jewelers with his late wife and retired from there in 1991. He was a member of Wadsworth Rotary Club, Wadsworth Lodge #385 F&AM, and Scottish Rite Valley of Akron.
Carl volunteered with the Wadsworth Rittman Hospital Auxiliary and The Salvation Army. He was a member of the Medina County Republican Central Committee, the Medina County Board of Elections, and served on the Board of Directors for Medina Metropolitan Housing Authority for 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn in 1986 and three sisters.
Mr. Dudley is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law; Janet and William Wood of Leland, NC, Mary and John Hagat of Stow, and Nancy and Bill Joy of Wadsworth, his grandchildren; Jennifer (Mark) Phillips, Julie Wood, Michelle Wood, Andy Hagat, and Ryan Patterson, and one great granddaughter Lily Phillips.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday at First Christian Church, 116 E. Boyer St. Wadsworth, with Rev. James Singleton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 10-11 AM Saturday at the church. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
