Janet L. Duffy (nee Kenney), 88, died October 10.
She was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, to Edward and Mary Ida Kenney and graduated from Lowell Teacher’s College at the age of 20. She married John (Jack) Duffy in 1946 in Lowell, Massachusetts, thus beginning a 52-year marriage.
The family moved to Wadsworth in 1965 where Janet taught grade school at Sacred Heart for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack in 1999, and is survived by their five children; Susan (William) Schledwitz, Martha Jones, Paul (Denise) Duffy, Mary Carpenter, and Michael Duffy, grandchildren; Cory Jones, Shawn (Laura) Carpenter, Devon Carpenter, and Eric Carpenter, and great grandchildren Ethan, Caleb, and Isaac Carpenter.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday 4-7 PM at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth, where a eulogy will be delivered at 6:30 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 272 Broad St. Wadsworth. Please meet at church. Interment is at Woodlawn Cemetery.
