Wadsworth –
Sharon A. Dunham, 68, of Wadsworth, passed away, Saturday, December 24, 2011. She was born on October 6, 1943 in Phoenix, AZ to the late Dick and Frances Dunham. It was a difficult war time delivery that left her severely developmentally disabled.
Ms. Dunham resided at Paradise Village Residence and then the Rosalind Ave. Group Home and was employed by the Sheltered Workshop of Medina County. She was preceded in death by her parents who spent many devoted years seeking the best care they could find for her and was also preceded in death by one sister Kristine.
Remaining to enjoy Sharon’s memory are her siblings and their spouses: Linda and Jim Venner of Wadsworth, Jeanne and Carl Susong of Highland Village, TX, Mary and William Hasselberger of Bluemont, VA, Laure and Randy Nicklaus of Glendale, CA, Dennis and Terry Dunham of Duluth, MN along with many nieces and nephews.
Sharon had an engaging personality and a twinkle in her eye the helped her to make many friends through her life’s journey. She enjoyed simple things like fine food, taking rides, music, her special friend Lenny and her always requested hot cup of coffee.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Society for Handicapped Citizens, Rosalind Home, Summa Barberton Citizens Hospital, Summa Wadsworth- Rittman Hospital and her guardian Jason.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 AM Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 272 Broad St., Wadsworth with Fr. Joseph L. Labak, Celebrant. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
