Robert (Bob)

Robert (Bob) Wallace Dyser passed away on February 4, 2022 at the age of 82. He was born on May 11, 1939 in Detroit, MI to the late Alice (Schurtz) and Wallace Dyser and was a long time resident of Wadsworth, a long time member of the Akron Baptist Temple and attended The Chapel Wadsworth in recent years. He was a graduate of Akron Central High School in 1957. After graduation Bob joined the Navy and served on the USS McGowan. After his service was completed, he attended The University of Akron where he played offensive center and defensive linebacker for the Akron Zips. Bob was a “Jack of all trades”. He could fix anything and taught himself how to sew, cook and refurbish antiques. Bob enjoyed reading, woodworking, golfing, and listening to bagpipes and big band music from the 40’s. He loved antique music boxes, building grandfather clocks, refurbishing player pianos and pump organs, and spending time with his grandkids! Bob spent most of his working years at Firestone and Goodyear Aerospace. He also spent time with Vinton Industries and Ebner Furnace. Bob was excited to retire after so many years of hard work! Some of his most treasured accomplishments include earning his Eagle Scout rank, being a 50 year member of National Lodge #568 F&AM and becoming a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Yusef Khan Grotto of Akron. In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by his brother Leslie Dyser. Bob leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Linda (Gray) Dyser, daughters, Cheryl (Dana) Kreider, Kim Dyser and son, Christopher (Mary) Dyser, his beloved grandchildren Daniel (Rachel) Kreider, Nicholas Kreider, Zachary Dyser, and Sydney Dyser, great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Heather, Ellie, Owen, Isaiah, and Susanna Kreider. He is also survived by his brother Tom (Joan) Dyser, sister-in-law, Sue Dyser, brother-in-law Dr. Larry (Sharon) Gray and leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Bob treasured his family and his friendships. He was the strength of our family and showed us how to endure difficult things that life could bring.
