Dorothy Eakin, 84, of Wadsworth passed away Friday July16, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with leukemia.

Dorothy retired from TA Truck Stop after 37 years of service. She loved to bake and cook for her family and friends. No one ever left her house hungry. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Her favorite passion was sleeping and she would say don’t cry when I die, as I am doing what I love to do.

To her TA family, she loved you all so very much. Our family would like to thank you for always looking out for our “Miss Dorothy”. Also remember what she taught you about life.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Dale Newell and David Eakin and son, David Newell.

Survived by her daughters, Gale,”Skipper” Wingert, Vicki (Joe) Mitchell, and Connie (Jim) Heim. Sister in laws, Peg Eakin and Norma Crislip, and her best friend of 38 years, Mary Lee Munday, 5 Grand Children and 5 Great Grandchildren.

Family would like to express their gratitude to Roosevelt and Debbie Shelton for always being there for our Mom and a special Thanks to Dr. Eric Panzer, Dr. Kathryn Leininger and the ICU at Medina Hospital and their staff for all their care and encouragement along our journey.

Family will receive friends 4-8pm Wednesday July 21, 2021 at Hilliard Rospert Funeral Home 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth, Ohio. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, July 22 at 10am with Pastor Gary Nussbaum officiating. Interment will be at Copley Cemetery.
