Obituary
Wadsworth –
David William Earliwine, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 10, 2022. He was born on October 13, 1950 in Barberton, Ohio to the late William Parkerson and Shirley Rae (nee Romig) Alexander. He resided in Wadsworth all of his life. After graduating from Coventry High School in 1969 he went and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked at National Metal Abrasives and retired from General Die Casters in 2017. He then worked for the Wadsworth City School District as a Crossing Guard at Valley View Elementary School.
David was preceded in death by his infant son Shawn Charles Earliwine, brother Dennis Ray Daugherty, step-father Robert “Bob” Daugherty and step-sister Ruth Alexander.
He is survived by his loving son and the one who led him to Jesus, Michael David (Liz Smith) Earliwine, step-daughter Kimberly Marie Kibe, brothers: Darryl Scott Daugherty, Daniel Ray Daugherty, Troy Earliwine, sisters: Deborah Lynn (Earliwine) White, Dorrie Lee (Daugherty) Shambo, Cathy Darlene (Earliwine) Matula, step-mother Hilda Earliwine, step-father Robert Alexander, grandchildren Carson James Earliwine and Pyper Ann Earliwine, step-grandsons: Ricky Baker and Cameron Lively, step-granddaughters Brittany Baker, Sharla Baker and Madison Helton, surrogate grandchildren Ellie, Emma, Eva and Evan Smith, several great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
David’s hobbies included the love of hunting in Southern Ohio with his long time friend Dave White, fishing, horse shows, the Medina County Fair, gathering with friends, family cookouts, watching the kids play baseball, Wadsworth football games and his love of Hopocan Garden chicken dinners.
His family would like to thank Pastor Dan Gregory, of Grace Church in Norton, for his visits to the ICU which resulted in Dave giving his life to the Lord. His family would also like to thank Barberton Hospital ICU and Grace Hospice for the time, care and comfort they gave Dave and his family during his final days and upon his passing. They would also like to extend a special thanks to his former wife Barb McCaman, Liz Smith, step-daughter Kimberly Kibe and Stephanie Lively for their time spent keeping him comfortable while caring for him at home.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00 am on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Dan Gregory officiating. David will be inurned at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with Military Honors.
