Darlene M. Emery, loving mother and grandmother, 83, of Wadsworth passed away Monday, March 27, 2018.
She was born June 10, 1934 in Akron to the late Vernon and Helen Brenner.
Darlene was a graduate of Copley High School where she was a member of the basketball team and was a cheerleader, she was a member of Northside Christian Church. In her younger years she worked in her family business Brenner Meats. She was a member of Beach & Pool Operators of America. For 30 years Darlene and her husband Bob owned Loyal Oak Lake Park and for 15 years owned Ridge Top Golf Course.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Robert, Sr. son Robert Emery Jr., great granddaughter Gianna Charles and sister Beverly Emich.
Darlene is survived her children; Denise Emery of Norton, Jack (Lori) Emery of Wadsworth, and Sandra (Brian) Matasich of Copley, daughter in law Viola Emery, grandchildren; Todd McHenry, Michelle (Will) Charles, Meghan (Zach) Farver , Jessica Emery, C.J. Emery, and Jake Englehart, great grandchildren; Gwyneth, Vincent and Isabel Charles and siblings; Marilyn Strawderman and Tom (Lucille) Brenner
The family will receive friends 4-7 PM Monday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth, where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday with Pastor Robin Hart officiating. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
