Obituary
James Russell Farr, 85, of Wadsworth, died April 6, 2014 at Hospice of Medina County after an extended illness.
He was born October 12, 1928 and was a lifelong Wadsworth resident. He graduated in 1946 from Wadsworth High School and from Purdue University in 1951.
Following a long career, he retired in 1997 from Babcock & Wilcox Company where he was Manager of Codes and Regulations. He was a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and co-author of the book “Structural Analysis and Design of Process Equipment.”
He was a member of Wadsworth United Methodist Church and an avid supporter of Wadsworth High School girl’s basketball.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, David (Susan) Farr of Encino, CA and Thomas (Jane) Farr of Carmel, IN; two daughters, Katherine (Frank) Waldo and Nancy (James) Morrison; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Barbara (Rohrer) Farr in 2004; a daughter, Susan Farr in 2011; his parents, Frank and Dorothy (Harrison) Farr; and a brother, Charles Farr.
Private services were held for the family at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wadsworth High School All Sports Boosters.
