Ruth Leora Burgner Flood, 94, of Wadsworth passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010. She was born on March 29, 1916 in Doylestown to the late Anna and Lloyd Burgner. Mrs. Flood lived most of her life in Wadsworth and was the owner of Ruth’s Beauty Shop until she retired. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, taught Sunday School and sang in the Church Choir for many years. She was a charter member of the Wadsworth Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, volunteered at the Wadsworth Rittman Hospital snack bar and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Flood, daughter Jane Harris, daughter-in-law Donna Flood, Great Granddaughter Stacia Flood, twin sister Ruby Simpson, sister Donna Lind, brothers Gene and Harold Burgner and In-laws Roy and Carrie Flood.
Ruth is survived by her son Tim (Polly) of Baxley, GA; daughters, Carol (Jerry) LoGuidice, Jean Wiedeman, and Becky Pataki and son in law Larry Harris of Wadsworth; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Betty Ahl & Mary Smith of Wadsworth, and various nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5-8 PM Thursday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, 146 High St. Wadsworth with The Rev. Daniel J. Cammarn and Rev. Ann Paynter officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church Building Fund or Hospice of Medina County.
