Patricia A. Frentzel (Swanson) passed away on June 21, 2018 in Wadsworth at the age of 81.
Known for her strong faith and generous heart, Pat is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Karl Frentzel and her children: Susan Swanson (Ed McKeon) of Worcester, MA; Drew (Denise) Swanson of Wadsworth; Maureen Swanson of Orlando, FL; Jim Swanson of Cuyahoga Falls; Dave (Trish) Swanson of Wadsworth; and Tim Swanson of Medina; step-children: Barb (Bob) Villa of Charlotte, NC; Bev Davis of Louisville; Bill (Pam) Frentzel of Canton; Karla (Marty) Kettler of Charlotte, NC; Kurt Frentzel of Canton; sister-in-law, Jo Swanson, O.P. of Columbus; 22 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Pat is preceded in death by her beloved first husband Andy Swanson of 29 years; sister, Kathy Cavanaugh; and brother, Chuck Casey.
Pat was born on November 26, 1936 in Akron, Ohio to the late Charles and Marguerite Casey. Pat’s parents’ legacy included passing along their strong faith in God to Pat. This faith continued to be shaped throughout her schooling until she graduated from St. Vincent/St. Mary High School and later, St. Thomas School of Nursing. Pat’s life was one of quiet service including more than 30 years as a nurse treating students at the Kent State Health Center, participating in the Cursillo movement at St. Patrick Parish in Kent or later, after the death of her first husband Andy when she became an active member of St. Patrick’s Bereavement Committee. Pat later served as a Eucharistic Minister along side of her devoted husband Karl at Our Lady of Victory in Tallmadge. The couple later moved to Wadsworth becoming parishioners of Sacred Heart Parish.
Calling hours are scheduled for Tuesday, June 26, 4-7 pm at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 147 N. Lyman St. in Wadsworth. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 27, at 11 am at Sacred Heart Church in Wadsworth, with a lunch reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pat’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Loyola Retreat House, 700 Killinger Rd, Clinton, OH 44216.
