Margaret "Meg"
Medina, OH

Margaret Kathryn Garrison,
In loving remembrance-
It is with great sadness that the daughter of Margaret Kathryn Garrison announces her sudden passing on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the young age of 64, in her home in Medina. Known to friends as Meg, she will be forever remembered by her loving daughter and best friend, Abigail (Abby), Abby’s close friends who turned to Meg for support and love in many times of need, and her dear friends and coworkers.
She is survived by her daughter Abby Masters, her sister Kimberly Faust, and her brother William Garrison, as well as three nieces, one nephew, her beloved cat, Teddy, and her grand-kitten Jax. Meg lost her exhausting battle to type 1 diabetes, uncommonly diagnosed just 4 years ago at age 60, in addition to both recently diagnosed and chronic illnesses she suffered from for many years of her life.
Meg was born March 11, 1953 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late William and Margaret Garrison (Ferguson). She graduated from Rutgers University in 1975 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Philosophy before moving with family to Ohio. She became a stockbroker at Prescott Ball & Turbin in Cleveland and trained to be a gourmet chef, before marrying Abby’s father in 1991 and soon after became a Mother and homemaker in 1992.
Life wasn’t always the kindest to Meg, but she lived for and through her daughter. She has always said her greatest accomplishment was Abby, and she was so proud to be her Mom.
A celebration of Meg’s life will be held on Saturday, December 16 from 12-3 at 824 Lincoln Way East, Massillon, Ohio 44646.
Donations can be made in Meg’s honor to the American Diabetes Association at or to the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation at
