Katherine “Tana” (Dippel) Geiger, 91 of Wadsworth, OH, passed away with her family by her side on January 1, 2012.

Katherine was born in Akron, OH, on April 2, 1920 to George and Katherine Dippel. Along with three brothers, she grew up in the depression era. She graduated from Garfield High School in Akron, OH, in 1939 and married her husband, Conrad, in 1942. They raised three children: Becky, David and Elizabeth.

Katherine was a member and secretary of the Sharon Women’s Club during the 1960’s and 1970’s and worked at the Aid Drug store in Copley. Not long after her husband’s death in 1981, she became the secretary of Mount Zwingli UCC, where she was a member and retired in 2010.

Over the last 30 years, Katherine was a prolific artist with countless paintings on canvas, wood and ceramic. Her love of nature inspired much of her work. Above all, Katherine was a very loving and caring person and will be forever missed.

Besides her three children, Katherine leaves behind her brother, Frederick H. Dippel, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brothers George and Richard Dippel.

Calling hours will be Thursday, January 5th from 3pm – 7pm at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 North Lyman Street in Wadsworth.

A service will be held on Friday, January 6th at 1pm at Mt. Zwingli UCC, 2172 S. Medina Line Rd. in Wadsworth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Zwingli UCC Sunday School or Music programs.
