Erin Marie Goff, 36, of Wadsworth, Ohio passed away of complications from a long courageous battle with Stage IV Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer on May 8, 2018 at Altercare of Wadsworth.
Erin was a 2001 graduate of Rittman High School and attended Wayne County Career Center. She attended the Nick Amster Workshop and they quickly found out how helpful she was and hired her to help those with more physical handicaps. It was there that she found her LOVE of bowling. She competed in the Special Olympics and received many medals. Erin proudly worked as a dietary aide at Autumnwood Nursing and Rehabilitation in Rittman for over 10 years, resigning in December 2016 due to illness.
Erin was preceded in death by: sister, Kelsey Sandmann; grandparents, Joseph West, Walter and Mary Ann Sandmann; aunt, Christine Sandmann and cousin, Madeline McPike.
Survived by her mom and dad Leigh and Walt Sandmann, sister and brother in law, Stephanie and Stephen Lange all of Wadsworth, grandma, Claudette West of Akron, uncles and aunts: Dave (Lori) West of Salinas, CA; Christine (James) McPike of North Ridgeville; Dale (Cheryl) Goff of Orrville; Richard (Valerie) Sandmann of Fairlawn; David (Shelly) Sandmann of Clinton; Steve (Alice) Sandmann of Lebanon, TN; William Sandmann of Barberton; Robert Sandmann of Copley; Anna Sandmann of Copley. Cousins: Jessica (Jerod) Stewart/Lauren/Sean, Cameron West; Jennifer (Chris) Badertscher/Riley/Taylor/Bailee, Jessica (Marcus) Royal/­­­­Taylor, Jackie (Ray) Centea/Teagan, JoEllen Goff; Ashley (Dominic) Sica/Vivian, Brandon Sandmann; Tara Sandmann, Courtney Sandmann; Josh (Juliana) Sandmann/Aden/Gabriel and Mateo, Samantha (David Jameyson, fiancé) Sandmann, Kaitlin Sandmann, Zach Sandmann and Daniel McFarlin. Several additional relatives complete this wonderful family tree.
Erin also leaves behind her best friend, Katie Beery and her entire family. The girls have shared a wonderful friendship for over 20 years.
Thank you Dr. John Petrus and his entire staff, VNS nurse Jennifer Liehr, Dr. Paul Fracasso, the staff of Hospice of Western Reserve and the staff at Altercare for taking excellent care of our daughter.
The family will receive friends 1-3pm and 5-8pm Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth and 10-11am Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at First Christian Church, 116 E. Boyer St., Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted at 11am with Andrea Orchard officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses.
