David D Graves of Rittman, Ohio passed away June 1, 2023 after a battle with Alzheimer’s. His last hours were spent at peace and surrounded by those who loved him.

Dave was born May 13, 1942 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Ann and Delbert Graves. He joined the Army on June 22, 1968 and earned the prestigious Purple Heart medal. After an injury in the Vietnam War he came home and married Judy Ann Graves, the love of his life. On July 22, 2023 they would have celebrated 45 years together.

Dave and Judy had a beautiful family and made their home a gathering place, welcoming the family to their pool every summer. Dave loved gardening, fishing, being outdoors, going for walks, and eating ice cream, cookies, and donuts. Watching his grandkids at their sporting events was a highlight of his life. He was known by his family for his yard sale adventures, one time returning home with a memorable blue glass piece for each family member.

Dave is survived by his wife Judy, sister Jean Flath, children Lori (Larry) Gauder, Rob Bellomy, and Sue (Mark) Peeples, and adopted children Trish and Craig Beltz. Also surviving are grandchildren Brittani (Aaron) Luers, Ben Watts (Aja), Zach Watts (Jade), Amanda (Mark) Wengerd, Paige (Micah) Steiner, and Megan (Landen) Arledge, as well as adopted grandchildren Francia Garcia and Morgan, Madison, and Mackenzie Beltz; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law that he loved so much also survive. Dave was proceeded in death by his parents, his son Kenny Bellomy and other family members.

Family and friends are welcomed to the military honors which will be 2:45PM, Friday, July 21st at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery (10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273). Please meet at the Cemetery Information at 2:30 PM. A Celebration of David’s life will be hel beginning at 2:00PM, Saturday July 22nd at the family home. The family would like to thank everyone involved in the help of his care, including neighbors and friends who became family.
