Mary F. Griner, 81, of Wadsworth Twp. passed away, Wednesday, November 9, 2011. She was born on December 15, 1929 in Akron to the late John M. and Alice I. Long.
Mrs. Griner was a graduate of Wadsworth High School where she was a majorette. She was retired from the Wadsworth City Schools where she was the secretary at the middle school. She was a member of the Wadsworth Historical Society, the River Styx and Wadsworth Garden Clubs and served on the Board of Directors for the Medina County Credit Union. She volunteered at Wadsworth Rittman Hospital, was a friend of the library and enjoyed golfing and bowling.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1977.
Mary is survived by her daughters; Ramona (James) Mitchell of Austin, TX and Cheryl Hughes of Foster, KY. There are three grandchildren; Lucas (Ange) Mitchell, Bart (Sigrid) Mitchell, Clifton (Danielle) Hughes, four great grandchildren; Dalton and Aubrie Hughes, A.J. and Kyla Mitchell, one brother John W. (Ann) Long and one half brother Cloyd (Marilyn) Stormer.
The family would like to thank Mary’s special friends Kay Hastler and Roberta Kelly for all their help and support.
The family will receive friends 10-11AM Saturday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Medina, 797 N. Court St., Medina, OH.
