Obituary
Nancy Jean Hall passed away peacefully on November 9, 2022 at the age of 94. She was born in Wadsworth, Ohio to Walter S. Kunkler and Helen Hartman Kunkler on June 7, 1928. She spent most of her life in Wadsworth, Ohio. Nancy graduated from Wadsworth High School and took business courses in Akron. She worked at the Ohio Match Company where she met her husband of 39 years, Russell Hall. She switched careers and was employed 33 years at the local newspaper, The Wadsworth News Banner, first as a type-setter and later as an office secretary. She retired at the age of 70 from the Sun Newspaper. At 74, Nancy moved to Sylvania, OH to be near her son’s family.
Nancy will be remembered for her love of life and family. She had a very positive spirit and sense of humor about her. She enjoyed her chocolate sodas, Tom Collins, perch sandwiches and steaks. She loved square dancing and the “Golden Girls”. But she loved nothing as much as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always excited about the grandkid’s interests: Michelle’s cello, Elyse’s running, Zach’s baseball, Owen’s soccer and Myla’s cheering. She was proud and supportive.
Nancy is survived by her son, Russell (Laurie) Hall; grandson Matthew (Lauren) Hall; granddaughter Rachel (Patrick) Brand; great grandchildren Michelle, Elyse, Zachary, Owen and Myla; sister, Sarah Pinhard. Preceding her in death was her husband, Russell Hall.
A special Thank You to the staff at the Lakes of Sylvania where she was a resident for 6 years. The love and the care that they gave her was genuine, impressive and much appreciated.
A private family service will be held on Saturday, November 19 at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home in Wadsworth.
