Mary S. (Carris) Hamilton, 89, of Barberton passed away Sunday July 12, 2015. She was born November 3, 1925 in Akron to the late Odbert and Sadie Mollohan. Mrs. Hamilton was a retired school teacher having taught in the Green Public Schools (Summit County) and was a member of Kappa Kappa Iota. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, sewing, baking cookies for her grandchildren was an avid reader and spent many hours shopping. Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, and the father of her daughters Ed Carris. Her daughters survive her as do her grandchildren and great grandchildren; they are: Shirley (Bob) Casey of Wadsworth, Jackie (Kris) Hovey of NC, Pat (Alan) Spitzer of Amherst, her grandchildren: Aimee Lockhart, Patrick Casey, Mary Beth Foster, Ed Lockhart, Wendy Hovey, Alison Swartz, Ashley Brent, Jenny Manos, Alana Powell, Andrew Spitzer, A.J. Spitzer and Amelia Spitzer along with 12 great-grandchildren, her sister Fay Voelker and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ralph and Darlene Carris. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Wallace and Orval Mollohan, sister Norma Buchanan and second husband Samuel Hamilton.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to her dancing and teaching friends, the loving staff at Magnolia Village, Dr. Fracasso, and Hospice of Medina County.

Private services have been held for the family.
