John A. Hanna, 73, formerly of Wadsworth more recently of Seville, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2010. He was born February 26, 1937 in Wadsworth to the late Arthur E. and J. Gail Hanna. Mr. Hanna was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where he was a former Senior High Advisor, Leader of Boy Scout troop #404, and former member and past president of the Consistory. He was a graduate of Wadsworth High School, and in his younger years he was a Little League baseball coach. John was a former ward Councilman in the city of Wadsworth, was the former Council President, and served as the Mayor of Wadsworth for 10 years. He was a member of the Wadsworth Lions Club where he was a past president, and he was a member of Wadsworth Lodge #385 F&AM. John was a former State Farm Insurance agent for 32 years. He was a former member of Rawiga Country Club where he organized an annualgolf outing to benefit Multiple Sclerosis and also hosted the Turkey Day Charity Golf outing, with the proceeds going to The Haven of Rest. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Tour de Force Entertainment Co. John loved golfing, fishing, bowling, woodworking, politics, his tractor, boating, and cherishing many moments at his cottages in Marblehead and Canada. His greatest love, however, was his family and all of his grandchildren’s activities. John is survived by his wife Josephine, with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage, and their three sons: John Hanna Jr. of Wadsworth, Dr. Jeffrey (April)Hanna of Seville, and Joe (Lisa) Hanna of Wadsworth. He was surrounded by nine wonderful grandchildren: Alexa, Jake, Austin, Averi, Lori (Alex) McIlvaine, Joey, A.J., Ben, and Sam; his sister Joan (Randy) Heller of Medina and brother David Hanna of Cambridge, MD. There are many nieces, nephews and cousins also surviving. The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-9 PM Wednesday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where Masonic services will be conducted at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday at Trinity United Church of Christ, 215 High St. Wadsworth with Rev.
