Wadsworth –
Donald E. Hantzsche, 80 of Wadsworth passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 16, 1933 in Wadsworth to the late Edwin and Florence Hantzsche. Don was a 1951 graduate of Wadsworth High School and a member of First Christian Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. After serving his country, he came home to Wadsworth and went to work at the Ohio Match Co. later retiring from Richey Industries in Medina. Don was a member of Wadsworth American Legion Post #170. He enjoyed playing golf and online cribbage and was a huge fan of Fox News.
Don is survived by his wife Joy, with whom he would have celebrated 62 years of marriage this August, his daughter and son-in-law Linda and Michael Chrisopulos, son and daughter-in-law Edwin and Rachael Hantzsche all of Wadsworth; grandchildren: Jennifer (Bill) Crowley, Ramie Severance, Emily and Erica Hantzsche and great-grandsons Evan and Noah Crowley.
The family will receive friends 2-4 pm Friday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth where a memorial service will be held at 4 pm with Rev. James L. Singleton officiating. A private burial at the Western-Reserve National Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Rd., Medina, OH 44256.
