Obituary
Hartford Marion Harding, 84, of Medina, Ohio, passed away on October 1, 2023. He was born on July 14, 1939, in Navarre, Ohio, to the late Ruth (Wood) and Hartford M. Harding Sr. Hartford was a sincere, intelligent, and thoughtful individual who was deeply family-oriented.
Hartford graduated from the University of Michigan, and had a successful career as an executive for Goodyear Tire and Rubber company, where he dedicated 35 years of his life. He was known for his hard work and dedication to his profession. He retired to Bluffton, South Carolina where he and his wife enjoyed warmer winters.
In his free time, Hartford enjoyed boating, fishing, golf, and spending quality time with his family. These hobbies brought him great joy and allowed him to create lasting memories with his family and friends at Duncan Bay Boat Club.
Hartford is survived by his beloved wife, Sheryl (White) Harding; his daughter, Heather (Harding) Urbanic; his daughter, Heidi (Harding) Burkey, and son-in-law, Jeff Burkey; his grandchildren; James and Megan Urbanic, and Ethan and Emily Burkey; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Tomilee Harding; and his nieces and nephews, Robert Harding, Scott and Danielle Harding, Rachelle Harding, and Regina Harding. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Thad Harding.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Duncan Bay Boat Club in Cheboygan, Michigan, during the summer of 2024. This gathering will give family and friends the opportunity to honor and remember Hartford’s life.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Red Cross, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, two organizations that were close to Hartford’s heart.
The Hilliard-Rospert funeral home in Wadsworth, Ohio, is assisting the family with the arrangements during this difficult time.
Hartford Marion Harding will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His sincere nature, intelligence, and dedication to his family will always be remembered and cherished. May he rest in peace.
