Hargis
Wadsworth, Ohio

Tracey Lee Hargis passed away peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord on November 26, 2022 at the age of 61 after a long and most courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Marylin P. and William A. Coulter on August 25, 1961. She was raised in North Canton and then Strongsville. It was at Strongsville High School where she met the love of her life, Thomas. They were married in Strongsville in 1980. Her married life was spent in Brunswick then Wadsworth, Ohio. Her and Thomas returned to live in Strongsville this past year.

Tracey graduated from Strongsville High School and then after raising her young children to be independent, returned to school completing coursework and training with academic achievement in Dental Assisting at Medina County Career Center. Additional skills training accomplished in the Dental Field at Case Western Reserve and The Ohio State University saw her gain prowess and certifications in Provisional (Tooth) Restoration, Provisional (Tooth) Crown and Bridge, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, and Oral Radiation. She was an extremely talented and highly desired Technician in the Dental Field for over 28 years. She continued to work throughout her illness and retired in 2018.

Tracey will be remembered for her love of life, family, a myriad of friends who are family, and for her love of Jesus Christ. She had a very positive spirit and sense of humor within her. She dedicated her life to the church serving as a long-time 2nd Grade PSR Teacher and then as a Eucharistic Minister, and later bringing Holy Communion to the Sick and Homebound.

Her family and friends were her world and the joy of her life. She was a founding member of the ‘UL’ in her neighborhood. She always had a smile or laugh to give and was always a driving force of encouragement for each person she touched, helping them to become and be the best version of themself. She loved to travel and was always planning the next trip. Most of her excursions usually ended up at or near the beach and ocean. Her love of nature’s beauty – parks, the zoo, woodlands and animals, flowers and plants – took her and her family to places many do not see in a lifetime. She enjoyed art, painting, music and had a special love of cooking and food.

But she loved and cherished nothing as much as her children, grandkids, and her dogs (Finley & Willa) and grand-dogs (Gunther, Ninja, and Nacho). She was always excited about joined in on her grandkid’s interests: Ryan’s lacrosse, Lillith’s flute and running, Coltin’s magic & card tricks and running, and Emma’s volleyball and art talent. She was so proud and supportive of each of them. She always had high hopes and expectations and never gave up.

Tracey is survived by her husband of 42 years, Thomas Hargis; Her daughters Lauren, Jamie and Holly; Her grandson Ryan (Jamie), her granddaughter Lillith (Lauren); her grandson Coltin (Lauren); her granddaughter Emma (Jamie); Her sister and brothers from the Coulter family, Linda, Jeff, John, and Scott. Her nieces and nephews, Julie (Linda), Victoria and Alex (Scott), Jake and Tyler (John) and Jonathan (Jeff). Her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tina and Ron Shaw and their sons, Joe and Jon. Preceding her in death was her mother Marylin, her father William, her in-laws Juanita and Charles Hargis, her nephew Jeff, who all loved her dearly.

A heartfelt Thank You to the staff at the Southwest Hospice and Summa Lake Medina who gave her loving care. We are forever grateful. In lieu of flowers, the Hargis Family respectfully asks, any donations be sent to Stewart’s Caring Place Fairlawn, OH in her memory, supporting aid to those fighting cancer. https://www.stewartscaringplace.org/give/donate
