Gerald “Jerry” Emerson Henthorn, 87, was born Nov 19, 1933 to the late Georgia Baker and Erman Henthorn in Hannibal, OH; and passed away peacefully on Jan 30, 2021.

Jerry was the Beloved Husband of LaVon Frances McCaman, recently celebrating 64 years of marriage on Sept 8, 2020.

He was the loving Father/Grandfather/Great Grandfather to:
Daughter, Cathy Veverka of Wadsworth; grandsons Douglas of Indiana and Darin (Amber) and Great Grandson Otto of Wadsworth
Daughter, Joy (Don) Garver and grandson David of Wadsworth
Daughter, Karen (James) Thomas and granddaughters Jennifer and Sara of Barberton

The youngest of 7 siblings, Jerry was nicknamed “Runt”. He was preceded in death by sisters: Dorothy Cochran, Betty Wilson, Wilma Ludolph, and Thelma Danver; two brothers, Maurice Henthorn and Melvin Henthorn.

He is survived by several sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law as well as numerous nieces and nephews from both the Henthorn and McCaman families who love him dearly.

Jerry loved the outdoors, fishing, and golfing where he coined the phrase, “Hit your Ball, Pickup your Beer!”
Jerry was an avid bowler throughout his whole life where he acquired the nickname “Hammer” as “He put the hammer down!” when throwing his Hammer bowling ball!!

Following his service in the US Army, Jerry was a member of Wadsworth VFW Post 1089 and American Legion Post 170 as well as a lifetime member of the Wadsworth Eagles #2117.

Jerry was employed as a maintenance man by Unimin from which he retired on Jan 1, 1996.

The family will receive family/friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with service at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 15 at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St, Wadsworth. Burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens 9560 Acme Rd, Seville, OH.
