Wadsworth, OH

Billie Ann Bird Hilton passed away on March 23, 2023 at the age of 79. She was born on December 23, 1943, the oldest daughter of Richard J. and Mary L. (Campbell) Bird. Billie was a lifelong resident of Wadsworth, graduating from Wadsworth High School in 1961. Billie’s career was in the real estate industry, working in an administrative capacity with Russ Horner, then Moutes-Kovack, and then Kovack, Realtors until retirement. Although she had her license, she much preferred her duties in the office and became indispensable to so many.

Billie loved all things history and loved to take road trips to historical locations. She also had a deep affection for Great Britain. A major highlight of her life was taking a trip to England and Scotland in 2000. Always up for an adventure, she obtained her private pilot’s license in 1976 along with her parents. She would make several trips with the “Plane Janes” to places like The Bahamas, Oshkosh, and New Orleans. Billie was a green thumb and loved to garden. She was a lover of animals her whole life (with the exception of snakes). For Billie, a good book or British mystery show, a good cup of coffee, and the company of her family, and all was right with the world.

Billie was never short on friends; having gathered them from each aspect and time of her life. Friends from childhood, high school, family connections, and work loved Billie and she loved them.

Billie will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Felicity and Ted Wilson, their children, Claire E. and Colin Richard; sister Dawn O. English and her children, Kelly (Charlie) Dressler and Kevin English; sister and brother-in-law, Lea and David Miller, their daughter Mallory (Christopher) Doherty and their son, Benjamin Richard, several great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rodney O. Hilton, granddaughters Olivia Lauren & Lindsey Grace Wilson, and her special beagle, Buddy.
Special thank you to the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care, especially Lori, Travis, and Nate; Dr. Laura Virgen and the Hospice staff at Summa Akron City Hospital for treating Billie with care and dignity.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 29 from 5-7 pm at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home and on Thursday, March 30 at 10 am at First Christian Church, prior to the funeral at 11 am. Pastor Sarah West officiating. Inurnment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Wadsworth.
