Barbara Ann (Kraska) Horrisberger

A lifelong resident of Wadsworth, Barbara Ann (Kraska) Horrisberger, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by her adoring family on January 18, 2014.

Barbara Ann was known for her kind and nurturing spirit and for her love of children. She was instrumental in establishing the Trease Road Child Care Center and worked as an aide in the Wadsworth City School District. She also served on many church committees and enjoyed reading, watching HGTV, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by parents Andrew and Barbara (Dragovich) Kraska, and beloved brother Andrew Kraska. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Philip Horrisberger; daughters, Michelle (Karl) Elsass, Sarah (Jamie) McComas, and Amanda Horrisberger; dear brothers Robert (Jane) Kraska and Mark (Barbara) Kraska; sister-in-law Debbie (Andrew) Kraska; grandchildren, Henning and Jacob Elsass and Kellen, Sophia, and Nolan McComas; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Drs. Spoljaric, Stone, and Deranek; nurses Nate, Nicole, and Theresa; and Hospice nurses Dawn and Ginger.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 23 from 4-8 p.m. at Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. Barbara Ann’s life will be celebrated at Oak Grove Mennonite Church in Smithville, 7843 Smucker Rd, Smithville on Friday, January 24 at 11 a.m. In addition, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Walnut Creek Mennonite Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Buckeye Chapter of the National MS Society, Hospice of Medina County, or a charity of your choice.
